Refund Policies

The NIM’s refund policy is as follows:

Refund for withdrawal due to non-delivery of Course:

NIM will notify the student within 3 working days upon knowledge of any of the following:

  1. NIM does not commence the Course on the Course Commencement Date;
  2. NIM terminates the Course before the Course Commencement Date;
  3. NIM does not complete the Course by the Course Completion Date;
  4. NIM terminates the Course before the Course Completion Date;
  5. NIM has not ensured that the Student meets the course entry or matriculation requirement as set up by the organisation stated in Schedule A (of the CPE’s Standard PEI-Student Contract) within any stipulated timeline set by CPE; or
  6. The Student’s Pass application is rejected by Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA).

The student will be informed in writing of alternative study arrangements (if any), and also will be entitled to a refund of the entire Course Fees and Miscellaneous Fees already paid should the student decide to withdraw, within 7 working days of the above notice.  Refund is to be made within 7 working days from the date of notification of non-delivery of the Course.

  1. NIM will refund the student accordingly to the Table below (Schedule D of the Standard PEI-Student contract) for any reason other than those in stated above – “Refund for withdrawal due to non–delivery of Course”. NIM will refund the student within 7 working days of receiving the Student’s written notice of withdrawal.

NIM will provide the Student with a cooling-off period of 7 working days after the date that the student contract has been signed by both parties (the Student and NIM). NIM will refund the Student the highest percentage accordingly to the Table below (Schedule D of the Standard PEI-Student contract)  of the fees already paid if the Student submits a written notice of withdrawal to NIM within the cooling-off period, regardless of whether the Student has started the course or not.

All Application fees are non-refundable and non-transferrable.

NIM has refund procedures which are aligned with the refund policy to execute any refund request. NIM’s refund procedures cover the following:

  • Refund for withdrawal due to non-delivery of course;
  • Refund for withdrawal due to other reasons; and
  • Refund during cooling-off period.

Refund for withdrawal due to non-delivery of course

  1. NIM will send an email and/or letter to notify the students.
  2. NIM to arrange for meeting with affected students to come to the school to process the refund documentation. If the student is overseas, all documentation will be done via courier/email.
  3. NIM will refund students all Course Fees and Miscellaneous Fess paid within 7 working days from the date of the student written request for refund. NIM will communicate to the student on the computation of the refund amount. All monies will be refunded to the students via the NIM Account (See below –  NIM Refund).
  4. Student to fill up and sign the following with the help of student services:

Indicate on the feedback form the request for a refund.

Refund for withdrawal due to other reasons

  1. Student to fill in the Feedback form or provide a written notification to NIM via the Student Service officers for refund for withdrawal with reasons.
  2. Head of School to interview the student and approve the withdrawal.
  3. NIM will refund students based on the Refund Table in Schedule D of the NIM-Student Contract. NIM will communicate to the student on the computation of the refund amount. All monies will be refunded to the students via the NIM Account (See below – NIM Refund).
  4. Student to fill up and sign the following with the help of student services:

Refund during Cooling-off Period

  1. Student to fill in the Feedback form or provide a written letter to NIM via the Student Service officers for refund within the 7 working days after the date of the contract.
  2. If the written notice for refund is within 7 working days after the date of the contract, NIM will refund the student the highest percentage in the Refund Table in Schedule D of the Student Contract. NIM will communicate to the student on the computation of the refund amount. All monies will be refunded to the students via the NIM Account (See below –  NIM Refund).
  3. Student to fill up and sign the following with the help of student services.

Indicate on the feedback form the request for a refund.

For cheque refund, NIM will notify the student via email to collect the cheque when it is ready. When the student collect the cheque, they are to sign the Cheque Voucher to verify receipt of the cheque.

For TT refund, NIM will notify the student via email when the TT transaction is completed. All bank charges for TT will be borne by the student.
